Call Assist Background

Call Assist’s founding members previously managed a variety of motor and non-motor assistance services within large, diverse organisations. Understanding the specialism required for each type of service, Call Assist was formed in 1998 to develop vehicle rescue, accident assistance and other assistance services.

Since the launch of Call Assist’s Rescue Service in 1999, we have concentrated on providing dedicated assistance services. We focus our expertise in assisting our customers ‘at the event’ when they have experienced a vehicle breakdown, or their vehicle has been involved in an accident. Call Assist provides a white labelled service and is the name behind many household brands, as well as the service provider for insurer, broker, warranty and intermediary schemes. Call Assist has also provided the service for the successful breakdown cover provider startrescue.co.uk since 2009.

The introduction of the Financial Services Authority to the general insurance industry in 2005 was welcomed by Call Assist as it entrenched customer value into the product development and procurement policies of general insurance distributors. Having already embraced such values, Call Assist was able to continue focussing on innovation and product development.

After two years of development and refinement, Call Assist launched an entirely bespoke operating platform in 2006 to administer claims, generate robust and detailed management information as well as serve as the operating software for all functions of the business. Innovative technology such as mobile phone tracking, integrated telecoms systems and assistance apps, together with the flexibility to set different parameters for each scheme, has been key to our success.
